Jason Sasser was born and raised in Opelika, Alabama. He is a graduate of Opelika HS, class of 1994. Jason earned a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education: Social Sciences from Auburn University in May of 1998. In 2003, he earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Troy University. Sasser taught Social Studies at South Girard for ten years, and was named the school’s Teacher of the Year in 2005. Jason is an assistant principal at Central High School. In addition to beginning his 11th year doing play-by-play for the Red Devil football team, Sasser is also the announcer for the Central Lady Red Devil’s softball team. His wife, Kelly, teaches math at CHS, and the couple have three children, Zack, Ivey and Nicholas.

A 1971 graduate of Central High School, Frankie will begin his 11th year as the color analyst for the broadcast team. Frankie is an avid Red Devil fan who will capture listeners of all ages with his creative look at football action, as well as his slogan, “Never Say Never When You’re a Red Devil.” Frankie and wife Pam have been married for 27 years and the couple have three children–Angie, Matt, Brent–and 8 grandchildren.

Griff Gordy

Griff Gordy was born and raised in Phenix City, AL. He graduated from Central in 1994. Griff was the starting QB for the 1993 State Championship team, which still remains the only football title in school history. He is now entering his 9th year as the sideline reporter. Dr. Gordy continued his education at AUM where he graduated with a degree in Psychology, May 1999. In May of 2003, Dr. Gordy received his Doctor of Optometry degree from UAB.
In June 2003, Dr. Gordy joined Primary EyeCare Associates in Montgomery. He enjoyed four successful years with this private practice. During his time at PEA, Dr. Gordy, served as President of the Central Alabama Optometric Association. He also received Montogomery Advertiser’s Reader’s Choice Award for Best Optometrist of Montgomery County in 2006. Dr. Gordy has now moved back to his hometown of Phenix City and achieved his dream of opening Gordy EyeCare on August 20, 2007. Griff and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Phenix City and the couple have three children.
